Dr. Doan specializes in Pediatric Neurology and Vascular Neurology. He grew up in Sugar Land, Texas where he always showed interest in science and was active in sports. He attended the University of St. Thomas in Houston where he was honored with the Assured Acceptance Program with the University of Texas Medical School at Houston (UT Houston/McGovern Medical School) during Sophomore year of college, which culminated with acceptance into medical school there. He graduated college Summa cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry while having a triple minor in Biology, Math and Theology.
He graduated from UT Houston/McGovern Medical School in 2008. Dr. Doan completed Child Neurology Residency in 2013 and served as Chief Resident in Spring 2013 at UT Houston. He continued training with a Fellowship in Vascular Neurology from 2013-2015 at UT Houston. During that time he was involved with numerous clinical trials- including the use of thrombolysis in Pediatric Stroke and several stem cell trials. As part of the Stroke Team, he participated in Telemedicine services and was part of the team that launched the first Mobile Stroke Unit in the country. Dr. Doan is on staff at Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital.
Dr. Doan spends his free time with his wife; they like to travel and keep active with snowboarding, runs and the occasional triathlon or marathon.
Pediatric Neurologist with over 29 years of experience
Dr. Ronald Swatzyna received his Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in Social Work from The University of Texas Arlington. Currently, he is the Director/Chief Scientist of Neurophysiology Research at Houston Neuroscience Brain Center and Founder of Clinical NeuroAnalytics, LLC. Dr. Swatzyna is a licensed clinical social worker and board certified in neurofeedback and biofeedback by the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance (BCIA).For the past 24 years, Dr. Swatzyna has analyzed and treated the most diagnostically challenging cases in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Eighteen years ago, he started acquiring electroencephalography (EEG) and quantitative EEG (qEEG) data to identify neurological causes for psychiatric symptoms. As a researcher, he has presented and/or published over 100 peer-reviewed papers on brain injury, dysfunction, psychiatric medication, and other related topics at national and international conferences.Dr. Swatzyna is the Chair of the Sigma Xi Institutional Review Board (IRB) and is a board member of the Rice University/Texas Medical Center Chapter. He is also a member of the Neuropsychiatric Electrophysiology Section of the World Psychiatric Association. Dr. Swatzyna is a retired City of Arlington, Texas professional Firefighter-EMT-I and a veteran of Vietnam and the first Gulf War. Finally, his personal battle with traumatic brain injuries and posttraumatic stress disorder has motivated him to become a leading expert in brain dysfunction and treatment.
My goal for each patient is to identify the cause of their psychiatric and behavioral issues and to optimize brain performance with applied neuroscience.
Dr. Tang is currently the Medical director of Bellaire Eye Care. She is a board certified general ophthalmologist, and a neuro-ophthalmologist lifetime fellow of the North American Neuro-ophthalmology Society (NANOS) and American Academy of Ophthalmology, practicing in Houston for over 25 years.
She is a consultant for traumatic orbital, eye and brain injury at TIRR MHH in Houston, Texas. She is also a current clinical professor Neuroscience at the Fertitta Family UH College of Medicine and former tenured professor at University of Texas. She holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the University of Texas School of Public Health, specializing in Health Promotion and an MBA from the University of Texas in Brownsville.
She is named in the “Best Doctors in America” for over 25 yrs and “Top Docs” in Houston for past 10 yrs and has received several Honor Awards for teaching at the American Academy of Ophthalmology, holding multiple Teacher of the Year awards earned during her extensive academic career as a tenured professor at the University of Texas system.
Her clinical research are in diabetes and the eye, Multiple Sclerosis, papilledema, pseudotumor cerebri, traumatic brain injury eye effects, eye pain, AION, and Thyroid eye disease where she is a principal investigator of current trials and was top recruiter in the three trials leading to the approval of a landmark drug Teprotumumab. She has published over 150 peer reviewed articles and also book chapters.
Dr. Tang was also an adjunct and research professor at the UH School of Optometry and currently is an adjunct professor at Midwestern University Chicago College of optometry externship curriculum.
Dr. Tang was honored by the Houston Mayor, Bill White, for her community service with her Multiple Sclerosis Eye CARE clinic for the underserved in Houston with a Proclamation “Rosa A. Tang MD Day” on September 24, 2009 in Houston. Currently she is a member of the Victor Rivera Neuro Eye MS Center and the Victor Rivera Foundation.
Dr. Tang is from Peru. She is bilingual, and has trained over 20 fellows, mostly internationally, many of whom are currently holding academic positions in USA and/or abroad and who she considers her legacy.
Dr. Shabrez Tariq earned his Doctorate of Medicine degree in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation from Baylor College of Medicine and a MBBS degree and a Masters in General Surgery from Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College, Aligarh, India. He has also completed a fellowship in Interventional Pain and Spine and obtained certifications as a Life Care Planner and a Physician Life Care Planner. He has published multiple peer-reviewed articles and book chapters and presented at national and international conferences and symposiums. Dr. Tariq is passionate about advancing the field of pain medicine and improving the quality of life of his patients.
He is also an Assistant Professor at UT Health McGovern Medical School, where he teaches and mentors medical students and residents in the field of pain medicine and rehabilitation.
Dr. Huynh is a graduate of Touro University Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine and is a D.O. (Doctor of Osteopathic). Dr. Huynh completed her residency in internal medicine at Northside Hospital, in St. Petersburg, Florida. She has been practicing as a hospitalist in large, working closely with acute care hospitals, since 2016.
A former stay at home mom, Dr. Huynh wanted to get back to helping those in need. She has a deep passion for making a difference in people’s lives, which is why she helped co-found Redefined Mind. Dr. Huynh truly cares about her patients and their health!
Dr. Huynh opened Redefined Mind to work with Depression, PTSD, Autism and Concussion and is trained in MeRT delivery for all its usages.
Dr. Do is a graduate of Touro University Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Do served as a chief resident during his anesthesiology residency at Largo Medical Center, where he received training in pain management and general anesthesiology. He has extensive experience in the administration of ketamine and is the co-founder of Redefined Mind.
Despite being a father of two and having many responsibilities, Dr. Do is a kid at heart! This makes him great at treating children with autism. His youthful and caring demeanor puts patients and families who are in stressful situations at ease. Patients are extremely confident in Dr. Do and his abilities with MeRT, Ketamine Infusion Therapy, and Anesthesiology.
Dr. Huiping Xu, MD, is a board certified doctor who provides full-spectrum mental health care in Houston, Texas. As a holistic psychiatrist, Dr. Xu provides comprehensive psychiatric assessments and highly individualized treatment plans for all major mental conditions. She strives to help every patient cope with and manage the symptoms of their condition so they can maximize their quality of life.
